“Hope of the journey of peace is not a utopia or a worthy dream. It is a vital and decisive impulse for human life and for history.”
In his message, the pope denounces that, 'even today, dignity, physical integrity, freedom, including religious freedom, communal solidarity and hope in the future are denied to great numbers of men and women, young and old.'
He says war often begins 'with the inability to accept the diversity of others,' and recalls that 'the peace process thus requires enduring commitment.'

'This message by Pope Francis, reinforced by the messages by Pope Benedict XVI, indicates that the Church accompanies humanity in the mission of working for coexistence and dialogue for the promotion of the common good.'
Pope Francis says in the text that peace depends on everyone.
The pope of gestures recalls 'the world does not need empty words, but convinced witnesses, peacemakers who are open to dialogue that rejects exclusion or manipulation.'
Faced with world dramas, Pope Francis gives his tactic for shattering the fear of mutual destruction and the threat of total annihilation. He clearly states: 'It's a journey of reconciliation in fraternal communion.'
