Pope invites everyone to invoke the Blessed Mother to protect world with same prayer

Pope Francis sends a special edition of “The Pope Video,” inviting everyone to join him in prayer for the world, during the time of the coronavirus pandemic.

He thanks everyone for their prayers, no matter their religious tradition, and asks that they invoke the Blessed Mother by praying “Under Your Protection” together.

He prays, “We seek refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God. Do not despise our pleas – we who are put to the test – and deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin.”

The video is marked by the hashtag #PrayForTheWorld.

The coronavirus is now in 162 countries, with 290,000 infected and 12,000 dead as a result.
