41st edition of Rimini Meeting begins

This 2020, the Rimini Meeting is in its 41st edition. Due to the pandemic, the meeting will be held almost entirely online.

This year, the theme for the Meeting for Friendship Amongst Peoples is “Devoid of wonder, we remain deaf to the sublime.”

The pope sent a message through Vatican Secretary of State, Pietro Parolin. The text recalls the difficult months of the pandemic and explains how they have had, in one form or another, a different effect on everyone. The message continues by pointing out that these months have shown us compassion, suffering and fragility.

Pope Francis' message notes that this year, the Rimini Meeting is a perfect opportunity to reflect on our experiences and on the things that amaze us, because “wonder is truly the road to recognize the signs of the sublime, of the Mystery who is at the root and foundation of all things.”
