Pope Francis prays for the victims of the "deplorable" attacks in Vienna and Nice

At the end of the General Audience, Pope Francis strongly condemned the terrorist attacks in Vienna and Nice.

“I entrust to God's mercy the people who have tragically passed away and I express my spiritual closeness to their families and to all those who suffer as a result of these deplorable events, which seek to compromise fraternal cooperation between religions through violence and hatred.”

The collaboration between people of different religions has been one of the areas in which Pope Francis has invested the most in recent years, with documents such as the one signed in Abu Dhabi and the recent encyclical Fratelli Tutti.
