Cardinal Sebastian Koto dies at 91

Card. Sebastian Koto died on April 17 at 91 years old. He was the bishop of Mohale's Hoek, in Lesotho, a small country with just over two million inhabitants and completely surrounded by South Africa.

Pope Francis named him a cardinal in 2016. He was unable to attend the ceremony due to his age and health reasons.

The number of cardinals drops to 224. But the number of electors remains at 126, since 98 of them are over 80 years old, meaning they cannot participate in a conclave.
