This is how the meeting between the President of Chile and the Pope began.

The Vatican reported that they “focused on the country's domestic situation, paying particular attention to socio-economic development, the process of reform of the Constitution and relations with the Catholic Church.” The Vatican expressed a desire for “serene cooperation” with the country.

In a gesture of courtesy, the President gave the Pope a chess set made of combarbalita, a type of stone found only in Chile.

“This chess set is made out of a stone that exists only in Chile.”

The Pope gave the President a ceramic tile depicting St. Peter's Basilica.

-“The story of the Apostles after Pentecost is very impressive. How they went...”
-“...all over the world.”

It's the third time President Piñera visits Pope Francis at the Vatican.

His first visit was for the papal inauguration in 2013.

This latest meeting lasted for about an hour, which is longer than usual.
