Lesbos is preparing for a possible second visit by the Pope. A delegation from the Vatican traveled there to get an idea of the logistics necessary for another papal trip.

In early September, during an interview with Spanish radio COPE, Pope Francis assured that he planned on visiting Greece.

The trip could take place in early December and could include a leg in Cyprus and maybe even Lebanon. The Vatican has already ruled out a trip to Malta.

The Pope could also visit other Greek cities.

What is clear is that in Greece, he has three important matters to address: the migration crisis, the European Union's situation and relations between Catholics and Orthodox Christians.

Pope Francis' visit to Lesbos in 2016 was a moving trip, since Lesbos is at the center of the European migration crisis.

The Pope surprised the world when he returned to Rome with a number of migrant families, for whom he found housing in Rome.
