Pope Francis blesses Vietnamese newlyweds from California

Ivy and Kevin are newlyweds who traveled from California to Rome to receive the Pope's blessing. They attended his General Audience, wearing traditional Vietnamese outfits.

“We are from California, Orange County. And we are wearing our traditional Vietnamese wedding dress. This is our honeymoon. We traveled here five days ago and we're staying a week. We love Italy. It's beautiful.”

For the couple, being able to meet the Pope and speak to him was a dream come true.

“It's important to get the blessing from the Pope because that's a dream come true for everyone who is Catholic. We can meet him, we can get the blessing from him, shake his hand. It's a very special thing.”

Neither the rainy weather nor a 10-hour flight back home can dampen the spirits of these newlyweds as they said goodbye to the Eternal City and return to California.
