-Holy Father, it is with great emotion, I hand you my credentials.
-Thank you very much. And thank you for wearing a veil.
-Fantastic!

Isabel Celaá presented Pope Francis with her credentials as the new Spanish Ambassador to the Holy See. She also gave the Pope her late sister-in-law's rosary.

This is for you; it belonged to my husband's sister, who prayed a lot with it. She bought it at a Carthusian monastery in Burgos and sadly, she died this past summer.

The ambassador also gave him a bust from a limited art collection belonging to the Jesuit community in northern Spain, where the ambassador studied when she was younger.

Pope Francis gave her a medal celebrating the ninth anniversary of his pontificate and a collection of his significant writings.

-And this is a library so that she won't get bored.
-Ah, no. I will try not to.

The papal audience lasted half an hour. The ambassador was unable to meet with the Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, as he was out of Rome at the time.
