At the Stations of the Cross celebrated at the Colosseum in Rome this Good Friday, two women, one Russian and one Ukrainian, carried the cross at the thirteenth station, commemorating Christ's death.
The organizers of the Stations of the Cross asked for a moment of prayerful silence to pray for peace. It is a simple gesture that had not always happened in other Stations of the Cross which Pope Francis celebrated.
