The nightmare of war, which is the denial of God's dream, has descended again upon humanity. I renew my appeal to the leaders of the nations: do not bring humanity to ruin please! Do not bring humanity to ruin please!
Some 25,000 people had gathered in the square. The Pope also welcomed the extension of the truce in Yemen and recalled that two Capuchin martyrs killed at the beginning of the 20th century were beatified in Beirut that same weekend.
