Fr. Guillermo Marcó has a close relationship with Pope Francis. For years, they shared pastoral work in Argentina before Archbishop Jorge Bergoglio became the successor to St. Peter.

I met him when he first arrived in Buenos Aires. He was not well known here. He arrived as vicar of Flores; he came from Cordoba. I was in the vicarage of Flores, too. I was newly ordained.

Fr. Marcó has a Spotify channel where he uploads his own podcasts. He had the opportunity to interview the Pope on one of his visits to Rome.

So I told him what I was doing and I said, well? And he said, yes, yes, go ahead. Then I put the microphone on him and we continued talking. That is perhaps why the podcast attracted so much attention because it has a very intimate atmosphere.

Together, they talked about the Pope's daily life. Fr. Marcó describes Pope Francis as the same person he met years ago in Buenos Aires. The podcast creator is the parish priest of a very particular community—young people from the public university in Buenos Aires, who were quick to listen to the interview.

Most of the people appreciated that tone, the tone of the interview.

The sky is the limit when it comes to Pope Francis and interviews. His debut on Spotfiy is a prime example of his desire to reach people wherever they are.
