King of Jordan to Pope Francis: “I pray for you all the time”

The King of Jordan, Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein, and Queen Rania visited Pope Francis in the Apostolic Palace.

The two heads of state spoke about the situation in the Middle East. Pope Francis thanked the king for his role in protecting the holy places in Jordan and being welcoming to migrants.

I pray for you all the time.
-Thank you.
As you asked me many, many years ago.
-Thank you.

Pope Francis presented the king and queen with a bronze medal encased in marble depicting St. Peter's Basilica and the colonnade. He also gave them some of his writings, including his document on human fraternity.

In this, there was a beautiful experience of fraternity.

Pope Francis visited the country of Jordan in 2014. During his papal trip, he stopped at the Jordan River and spent a moment in silent prayer.
