Cardinal from Ghana who had to undergo surgery before the consistory dies

Cardinal Richard Kuuia Baawobr, the bishop of Wa, Ghana, has died. He was only 63 years old, but had been struggling with health problems. This past August, he was named a cardinal but had been unable to attend the consistory.

Yesterday, when he arrived in Rome, he was feeling sick and was hospitalized for a heart problem. I think they did surgery or something like that. We pray for this brother who was supposed to be here and is hospitalized.

The number of cardinal electors is now 126. Of these, 81 were created by Pope Francis, 34 by Pope Benedict XVI and 11 by Pope John Paul II.
