Pope Francis meets with Lebanese Prime Minister

During his meeting with the acting Prime Minister of Lebanon, Najib Mikati, Pope Francis expressed his concern for the socio-economic crisis in the country.

He emphasized the necessity of Christianity in Lebanon, as it is one of the few countries in the Middle East that has a Catholic presence. Pope Francis also insisted on the need for peace in the country and ended the meeting with a gift exchange.

It's something we do here in our workshops.

In August 2020, an explosion in the port of Beirut crippled Lebanon's economy and displaced many Christians.
