During his General Audience, Pope Francis greeted the young people present in St. Peter's Square.

POPE FRANCIS
Greetings to the young people participating in the international meeting UNIV 2023.

UNIV—created by St. Josemaría Escrivá, the Founder of Opus Dei—is a conference where groups of more than 3,000 university students from all over the world gather in Rome.

The truth is that it was great and we enjoyed it very much. It was very interesting.
There were a lot of people from many nationalities.
I heard there were students coming from Lebanon and I was surprised because it's so far away.

This year's conference was focused on a universal topic: happiness. The different groups discussed the idea that being happy is not simply a state of mind.

BLANCA
Elementary Education Student
We have been told that happiness is 50% genetic and that our attitude depends a lot on happiness and life circumstances, too.
You have to enjoy the little things. Everyone has bad days and times that, in the end, we can't change. They are part of our happiness too.

This is the second year that this group of students from Madrid have attended UNIV. They are already hoping to return to Rome before they graduate.
