We have seen him right at the Pope's side in Hungary and in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

We have also seen him in the ceremonies at St. Peter's Basilica. This is Monsignor Diego Ravelli, Master of Liturgical Celebrations at the Vatican.

On June 3, he was ordained Archbishop by the Secretary of State.

PIETRO PAROLIN
Secretary of State of Vatican City

Your episcopal ordination, dear Diego Giovanni, comes at the beginning of a hard and difficult millennium, marked by divisions and wars between brothers, such as the most recent one in neighboring Ukraine. You, like all pastors, are called to a tireless ministry of reconciliation and consolation.
You will be the instrument of all those graces that the Lord has reserved for difficult and dark times.

Pope Francis was present during the ceremony. At the end, he congratulated Archbishop Ravelli, despite his difficulty moving.

Ravelli was ordained a priest in 1991 and received his doctorate in Sacred Liturgy in Rome. In April, the Vatican announced his appointment as Master of Liturgical Celebrations.
