It is now official. The Vatican confirmed that Pope Francis will travel to Mongolia, a possibility that he mentioned a few months ago.
There is a possibility that from Marseille I will go to Mongolia. But that is not official. It is possible.
The trip to Marseilles, France, has yet to be confirmed by the Vatican. There, the Pope is expected to participate in the meeting of bishops of the Mediterranean, as he has done in the past in Bari, Italy.
Pope Francis will travel to Mongolia from August 31 to September 4. The country is home to approximately 1,300 Catholics among its population of 3 million. Last year, Pope Francis appointed Giorgio Marengo as Mongolia's first-ever cardinal.
