Pope Francis confirmed he will hold a bilateral audience with Argentine President, Javier Milei. The face-to-face meeting will take place during Milei's trip to Italy to celebrate the canonization of Mama Antula on February 11.

The Pope stated this in an interview with the Italian newspaper, “La Stampa.” Pope Francis says the two will greet each other before the celebration, as is customary for canonizations, but also bilaterally, though he has not specified exactly when. The Pope added he was accepting a meeting Milei had requested.

Pope Francis also used the interview to discuss his international trips planned for the year. He confirmed once again that he will visit Belgium and that in August, he will visit the Pacific. This time, he was more specific when it came to which countries—he will travel to East Timor, Papua New Guinea and Indonesia. Regarding Argentina, however, he said he has left it “in parentheses.” He did not give more details about what this means, but said that the organization for the trip has not yet begun.
