In the courtyard of the Pontifical Villa of Castel Gandolfo, Pope Leo XIV received representatives from eight different religious institutions. All of them are either in the midst of or nearing the end of their general chapters—a time of internal reflection.

The Pope emphasized two main points. First, he reminded them that, although they are very different spiritual realities, they all are the People of God. Secondly, he expressed his hope that their general chapters would help them achieve this goal.

Although Pope Leo has reduced his schedule of public and official events, he continues to hold meetings of various kinds. Some meetings are religious in nature, like this one. Other meetings are political, like his recent meeting with the President of Ukraine.
