The pope called for an end to hatred from all sides, against both Israelis and Palestinians.

POPE LEO XIV
ORIG. ITALIAN

I express my concern at the rise of antisemitic hatred around the world, as sadly demonstrated by the recent terrorist attack in Manchester. I remain deeply saddened by the immense suffering endured by the Palestinian people in Gaza.

He continues to follow developments in Gaza and the ongoing negotiations from Rome.

POPE LEO XIV
ORIG. ITALIAN
I ask all those responsible to commit themselves in this regard: that the fighting cease and that the hostages be released. At the same time, I urge everyone to remain united in prayer, so that the efforts now underway may bring the war to an end and lead us toward a just and lasting peace.

Later the pope published a message, through social media, in which he again insisted on ending the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza.
