With an international send-off and the flags of the Vatican and Algeria flying, Pope Leo XIV left the Algerian capital for his next destination: Cameroon.
Pope Leo will stay in Cameroon for three days, with stops in Yadoundé, the capital, and the cities of Bamenda and Douala.
In the anglophone regions of Cameroon, where current conflict continues, separatist factions announced a temporary ceasefire on Tuesday in anticipation of Pope Leo XIV’s visit.
