Here are some of the striking images of Venezuela. La Guaira, an area close to Caracas, now called the “disaster zone” by authorities, was especially affected by two earthquakes of 7.5 and 7.1 magnitude.

Leo XIV has sent 100,000 euros via the Office of Papal Charities. In the face of thousands affected, of whom 164 are deceased, the funds were donated to the Church leaders of the country.

Many religious locations have also been affected, which can be seen in this church, where, moments after the quakes, people suffered intensely. The parishioners even had to leave the building for fear of collapse.

This church in the state of Miranda is another example. See how some areas have remained after the earthquakes.
