At the end of the Mass for the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, Leo XIV and Emmanuel of Chalcedon of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople prayed together at the tomb of the Apostle Saint Peter.
Each June 29, it is tradition for a delegation from the Patriarchate to travel to Rome for this celebration. The same takes place on November 30, the feast of Saint Andrew, when a Vatican delegation travels to Istanbul in return.
