The new bishops who have been participating in the Vatican’s training course over the past few days concluded their sessions with a meeting with Pope Leo XIV.

There are 147 appointees, hailing from all five continents, who have received training on topics such as mission, liturgy, and abuse, as well as on the simple matters of the Church.

POPE LEO XIV

You will ordain priests and deacons, meet young people full of enthusiasm, witness the quiet generosity of so many men and women religious, missionaries, catechists, and families, and discover more and more just how beautiful the People of God are. Love the people the Lord has entrusted to you, learn their names, listen to their stories, visit their homes whenever you can, and pray with them.

The Pope, citing his encyclical *Magnifica Humanitas*, has warned that technology cannot solve humanity’s deepest problems.

POPE LEO XIV

A missionary bishop has a heart open to everyone—not only to those who attend our parishes, but also to Christians of other denominations, to believers of other religions, to people who do not profess a faith, and to all men and women of good will.

There was also a moment of prayer. Pope Leo XIV asked for prayers for the father of Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, who recently passed away.
