But they are televised live; they are talked about in euphemisms and with apparent tolerance, but nothing is done systematically to heal the social wounds or to confront the structures that leave so many brothers and sisters by the wayside”.

The government of the Order of Malta will elect the successor of the Grand Master in April

Pope names a Special Envoy for Medjugorje

Cardinal Parolin on WYD: Young people could be the builders of a new world

According to Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican Secretary of State, WYD in Krakow will be especially important, given the current situation of the world.

"I think young people could really be the builders of a new world. Through dialogue, through reciprocal acceptance, to make the difference a source of enrichment, reciprocal enrichment, not conflict and confrontation among people and persons."

Cardinal Pietro Parolin will be one of the few people that will travel with the Pope as part of his personal entourage during WYD.

"I think that it will be a very nice experience. For me, it will be the first, the first one. I never accompanied, I never participated in a WYD and I never accompanied the Holy Father. Then I am also a little bit curious to see what will happen.”

WYD will start on Tuesday, July 26, with a Mass in Krakow. However, the Pope will not arrive in Poland until Wednesday afternoon.
