Pope publishes new video for August prayer intention: sports


Pope Francis has once again published his monthly prayer intentions via "The Pope Video.

For the month of August, he is asking for all to pray that "sports may be an opportunity for friendly encounters between peoples and may contribute to peace in the world.”  

Through the competition present in sports, he hopes that Christians will be able to live out the Gospel, "giving witness to faith, honesty, and love of neighbor.”
