Pope sends condolences for victims of Turkish cargo jet crash

January 16, 2017. On Monday morning, a Turkish cargo plane has tragically crashed in Kyrgyzstan, killing dozens and hospitalizing many others. Many homes and vehicles in the small village are also destroyed. As a result, Vatican Secretary of State, Pietro Parolin has sent a message of condolences to the victims of the disaster on behalf of Pope Francis.

Pope Francis meets with the relatives and the wounded in the terrorist attack on July 14 in Nice, France.

Pope Francis will meet with the survivors, relatives of the victims, and mayor of Nice,  Philipe Pradal, in a private audience at the Vatican. The encounter will be held in the Paul VI Audience Hall at 12:00 p.m., local Rome time. 

The president of the region Provence, Alpes and Cote d'Azur, Christian Estrosi; Bishop of Nice, André Marceau and representatives of the association of interreligious dialogue "Alpes Maritimes Fraternite will also be in attendance. 

The meeting is funded between "Amitié France-Italie” and the Vatican.
