Getting to know Pope Francis is on the wish list of thousands of people. Among them, Jordi Gasull, producer of adventure films “Tad, The Lost Explorer.” He brought the main character of his movie to the Vatican.

While the second film will be released worldwide in the coming months, in Spanish theatres it grossed 7.7 million euros its first 10 days. However, there is not only an economic goal, but another one to display important values to little ones.

'We don't try to make a catechesis in our films, but we try to defend values that coincide with Christian ones. In this case, this film tells children and families that the greatest treasures that exists are love, surrender for others and sacrifice. These are worth more than any treasure in the world.'

However, for Jordi Gasull being in Pope Francis' presence did not intimidate him. He even dared to joke with him as they spoke.

'The meeting with Pope Francis was exciting. The truth is, I have no words to describe it. For a believer to meet the pope, and he is my favorite pope from those I have witnessed, it was an experience that requires no words.'

He asked Pope Francis to bless his work and the work of all those dedicated to the cinema, and then this happened.

'I told him that Jesus was so humble that while He could have been born in Buenos Aires, He chose to be born in Bethlehem. The pope laughed out of politeness I think. He said 'very good, very good.' But afterwards I think he thought about the joke, because he started to laugh and suddenly when he was leaving he told me, 'Hey you, that joke, very good! Very good!''

With these films Jordi Gasull wants to transmit universal values such as love of neighbor, patience and respect. They are precisely those that Pope Francis is responsible for showcasing whenever he can.
