The Vatican presented the cultural program for the 2025 Jubilee and announced that the works of two great artists will visit the Eternal City. Pilgrims will have free access to selected works by Marc Chagall and Salvador Dalí.

The works to be exhibited will be chosen based on this criterion:

ALESSIO GERETTI
Curator of the exhibitions

We are specifically planning these "events of grace" that propose an encounter with one, two, or, at most, three works—as it was in the case of the artist, El Grecco. In the case of Dali, we will have two works and for Chagall, only one. The venue for the two exhibitions that we've been considering is the Church of San Marcello al Corso.

Archbishop Fisichella said the official program for the cultural events of the Jubilee will be published in May. He explained some of the ideas for the program came from proposals people sent in from around the world. The goal of the initiative is to offer pilgrims a little taste of global cultures.

ABP. RINO FISICHELLA
Dicastery for Evangelization

The direction coming from the Holy Father was this: “The Dicastery that promotes the new evangelization will know how to make this moment of grace a significant stage for the pastoral care of the local Churches.” For us, this meant the need to extend the experience to the cultural dimension as well. And by its own essence extends to everyone and becomes a true vehicle for sharing values that precede faith.

But art is not the only part of the cultural program. Leading up to the Jubilee, three classical music concerts will be held from April to December, featuring the Sistine Chapel Choir.
