Pope Francis has arrived at the house of the Divine Master in the Italian city of Ariccia. He will stay here for his second spiritual retreat as Pope.

The top two officials from each department in the Roman Curia joined him on the bus ride to the retreat.

The Pope was greeted by the leaders of the Pauline religious order upon his arrival.

Five days of prayer and silence await Pope Francis and his companions. They will start their day by praying the Breviary at 7:30 a.m. The last item on their agenda will be dinner twelve hours later.

They began the retreat with the Eucharistic Adoration, which was also attended by the preacher of the retreat, the Carmelite Bruno Secondin.
