Pope Francis prayed for the victims of the Alps plane crash that took the lives of 150 people on March 24th. The prayer was said during the Angelus, just moments after he celebrated Palm Sunday Mass.

POPE FRANCIS
'I entrust to Our Lady's intercession the victims of the plane crash last Tuesday, among which there was also a group of German students.

Shortly before his remarks, the Pope directly addressed young people. Many are visiting Rome to take part in Holy Week celebrations.

POPE FRANCIS
'Dear young people, I urge you to continue your journey both in your dioceses and in your pilgrimage across the continents, which will carry you all next year to Krakow, the homeland of St. John Paul II, who first initiated the World Youth Days.â?

The Pope concluded his first major ceremony of Holy Week by riding the Popemobile to greet and bless the pilgrims.
