Pope Francis' visit to Washington is expected to lead to major traffic in an already congested city. The problem was made worse on Tuesday night when part of the city's subway system lost power for several hours.

For Washington locals, it wasn't a surprise. The Metro is known for its delays, power outages, and other problems.

And now some Washington residents are hoping the Pope can help. A petition has been started to 'get the Pope to bless the DC Metro system so it actually works.â?

The petition was created by Noah Rosenheck, a Washington resident. By Tuesday morning, it received more than 2,000 signatures.

Rosenheck wrote, 'Our Metro system is having some troubles. All of DC would be grateful if you could find the time to bless it during your upcoming stay. Maybe a Papal Blessing is just what it needs.

The tongue-in-cheek petition has already received coverage in local media. Its creator said, 'At this point I'm willing to try anything.
