These families ventured to Rome with their children to see the Holy Father. Attending his General Audience on World Water Day, they were  influenced to act together to preserve the earth's resources.

ERIC OLSON
'It was exciting to see the Holy Father, and especially have him highlight the environment, and the need to be careful of our resources, that's something we feel strongly about.â?

SARAH OLSON
'We have to conserve what we have and we've already lost so much, and so now more than ever it's important to use things wisely, and to love the earth we've been given.â?

The pope's words also served as prominent reminder that what one often takes for granted, is not so common in impoverished countries. It's something that's often forgotten in the midst of daily life.

JOE BEYER
'You have to start thinking about how the rest of the world is not as blessed as we are, and how hard it is to get water everyday. These companies that are starting to talk and do actions about that is very interesting.â?

Pope Francis' concerns about the environment, and those living in extreme poverty, have served as major highlights during his pontificate. As it can be seen, the Holy Father's initiatives inspire action and change in families.
