Best images from Pope Francis' intense trip to the Baltic Countries

Here are the best images from Pope Francis' intense trip to the Baltic Countries.

The Holy Father did a four day apostolic visit to Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, which he finished on Tuesday.

The pope visited these countries after their one hundred years of independence from Tsarist Russia. The pope also remembered the suffering these countries experienced during both Nazi and Soviet occupation.

Apart from the 80 percent of Catholics in Lithuania, the pope visited countries with a mixture of Orthodox, Lutheran, Catholic and non-believers.

The pope observing the suffering and lost of faith these countries have experienced, in recent history, stressed the importance of greater communion through the spirit of ecumenism.
