This December, Pope Francis asks families to remember children who have uncertain futures. His prayer intention for this month is to remember that, “Every child who is marginalized, abused, abandoned, without schooling, or without medical care, is a cry that rises up to God.”

The pope said, “In each of them is Christ, who came to our world as a defenseless child; it is Christ who looks at us through the eyes of each of these children.” The social and economic situation in countries of war affect around 250 million children. The pope asked they not be forgotten.

Pope Francis invites people to pray, as well as make concrete actions in everyday life. “Let us pray that every country decides to take necessary measures to make the future of children a priority, especially the future of those who are suffering today.” He reminds parents to spend time with their children, recalling that every time a child is abandoned, it will ensure society's failure.
