Pope Francis met with singers who will perform at the Vatican's annual Christmas concert.

Among the singers are Italian artists such as Mahmood, Noemi and Rovazzi. Also performing are international stars such as Susan Boyle, Bonnie Tyler and Lionel Richie.

Pope Francis thanked them for participating in the year's show. The show is meant to raise young people's awareness about saving the environment.

The pope reminded them they have a very important role: to influence young people through their music.

POPE FRANCIS
“We are called to build a 'village of global education,' where citizens build a network of relationships. This is the best protection against discrimination or isolation.”

At the end, the pope gave special thanks to the event's organizers, Salesians and Scholas. This year, the event is being celebrated to promote social projects in the Amazon region.
