This group of brothers from the Legionaries of Christ in Rome is overcoming the coronavirus lockdown with music. Their new song, Te abrazaré, or “I will hug you” in English is a reminder of God's embrace in the highs and lows.

“Despite the difficulties we face in life, there is always hope. What we want to do as a community is give a lot of hope and be a source of light with our little contribution.”

This song was created as part of an initiative of creativity to transmit Christ's joy to the faithful, when churches are currently empty and closed. They are following the pope's advice to “be creative.”

“We have to continue with creativity in many ways in order to be close and share joy and also difficulties. This situation is strange, because it affects everyone. We want to find ways to respond and continue to find faith and hope.”

While people have time on their hands, they encourage people to use their talents and gifts to give back, whether it is through art, volunteering or music.

“Also, what you can do, nobody else can do. It's important that you find the way to get out of yourself and meet those who need it most. Be creative in order to live out charity.”

These Legionary brothers say they will continue making music with the intention of bringing faith and hope to the world, especially in this time of pandemic.
