Pope at Santa Marta: The Church grows with our witness

In his homily at Casa Santa Marta, Pope Francis explained that Christian life is keeping the commandments, following the path of the beatitudes and carrying out works of mercy. He added that it also entails a mutual “remaining.”

It will do us good to think and reflect on this: remaining in Jesus and Jesus remaining in us. Remaining in Jesus [allows us] to have nourishment, strength; to have justification, gratuitousness; to be fruitful. He remains in us to give us the strength of the fruit, to give us the strength of the witness with which the Church grows.

Pope Francis emphasized this is the mystery of reciprocally remaining. Jesus uses our witness to help the Church grow.
