Pope at Santa Marta warns against danger of living faith in a rigid way

During Mass at Casa Santa Marta, Pope Francis explained that faith carries joy and freedom. Rigidity on the other hand, causes unease. He said many times in history, dogma has been reduced to an ideology.

POPE FRANCIS
Rigidity is not from the good Spirit, because it puts into question the gratuitousness of redemption and of the resurrection of Christ. This isn't a thing of the past. Throughout the Church's, it has repeated itself. Let's think about the Pelagians, famous for their rigidity, and also of our times.

Pope Francis said that where there is rigidity, God's Spirit is absent, because the Spirit of God is freedom.
