The former Archbishop of Manila, Luis Antonio Tagle, tested positive for the coronavirus. He arrived yesterday in Manila and will remain at home until he completely recovers.

As the current Prefect of the Congregation for Evangelization, he met with Pope Francis on Aug. 29. He is not the first cardinal to be infected with the coronavirus. Angelo De Donatis, Vicar of Rome, and the Archbishop of Burkina Faso, Philippe Ouedraogo, also tested positive.

This would be the 13th case that has been verified in the Vatican. Pope Francis has been tested for the coronavirus several times, but has always tested negative.
