Pope Francis to celebrate Mass on Pentecost Sunday in the Vatican

This Sunday Pope Francis will celebrate Mass for the Solemnity of Pentecost at the main altar of St. Peter's Basilica, known as the Altar of the Confession which sits under the monumental bronze sculpture sculpted by Bernini.

Due to restrictions put in place during the pandemic, the Pope has been celebrating Mass at the Altar of the Chair in the Basilica's apse, which is typically reserved for smaller Masses.

The Mass will begin at 10 A.M. Rome time and is expected to be attended by hundreds of people, although wearing masks and social distancing will be enforced.
