Pope Francis mourns the death of David Sassoli, President of the European Parliament

The telegram also underlines how David Sassoli promoted solidarity in Europe “with lucidity and passion, and dedicated himself with particular care to the least.”
David Sassoli was 65 years old and the first president of the European Parliament to die in office.
