The month of the Virgin Mary will be celebrated in a special way at the Vatican. Every Wednesday will be dedicated to the main titles of the Virgin Mary. There will be a special prayer that will conclude with a Mass between 4 and 5pm.
Additionally, every Saturday between 9 and 10pm, there will be a torch lit procession and Cardinal Angelo Comastri will lead a rosary.
In St. Peter's Square, there is an icon dedicated to Our Lady under the title 'Mater Ecclesiae.' It was blessed by Pope John Paul II in 1981, a few months after surviving the assassination attempt that almost cost him his life.
