After the series of catecheses on discernment, Pope Francis announced his new series dedicated to the passion for evangelization.

The Pope said that evangelizing is a vital element of the life of the Church and without it, the Church withers. He explained that it is a mistake to wait to be perfect before sharing the Gospel. Pope Francis said that, above all, what helps the Church to grow is love, more than any marketing plan.

POPE FRANCIS
In fact, as Pope Benedict taught us, 'the Church does not proselytize. Rather, it grows by attraction.' Don't forget this.

Pope Benedict gave this message at the inaugural Mass for the 5th General Conference of the Latin American and Caribbean Bishops in 2007.

Following the late Pope emeritus' words, Pope Francis dedicated his own reflection to this element of Christian life.

POPE FRANCIS
When you see Christians proselytizing—making a list of people—these are not Christians. They are pagans disguised as Christians. But their heart is pagan.

At the end of the Audience, Pope Francis asked those present to spend a few moments praying for Ukraine before this image of the 'Virgin of the People' venerated in Belarus.
