According to the organization Open Doors, 365 million Christians face persecution around the world. Global Christian Relief is dedicated to bringing awareness to the discrimination people face due to their faith with an extensive database that reports on persecution in real time.

But what it's gonna enable you to do is go into a country and it's like any database you can punch in. I wanna know where the most churches are closed or I want to know where more people, the most people are martyred in what country, if in your country, other countries. And you can get specific incidents and feedback.

The database tracks all religious groups, not only Catholics or Christians. And often it exposes groups facing discrimination that are sometimes ignored or forgotten because they are a minority in a country.

So for example, in China, both Muslims and Christians are persecuted. But there's 5 million Uyghur Muslims and they round them up. They put them in a concentration camp because they're trying to snuff out anything that challenges communist ideology.
It's horrific. People should know about that. There's a hundred million Christians. So the scale is much larger.

Dr. Curry says the database has also shown that this lack of religious freedom is not just a problem in Africa or Asia.

There's a growing trend of persecution in the West. Think of Nicaragua, overwhelmingly Catholic. More churches were closed in Nicaragua than anywhere else. About a hundred, I believe it's 179 churches because Daniel Ortega and the administration are targeting Catholic churches. They're targeting pastors.

Since 1973, Global Christian Relief has worked with partners on the ground in some of the countries with the highest persecution rates, like Pakistan, Iraq and Colombia.
