Pope Leo XIV received a warm welcome from the people of Barcelona during his arrival to the Sagrada Família. Along with the King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain, the pope was given an explanation of the structure of the basilica’s tallest tower, the Jesus Tower, which he himself will bless following the celebration of Mass inside the church.
A blind girl named Valentia was the one who gave the presentation on the 172-meter-high tower while Pope Leo listened attentively. Afterwards, she gave him with a painting of the tower as gift, which she had drawn herself. Valentia is part of a group organized by ONCE, an organization that promotes inclusion and employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
