Few people know the Vatican website gives everyone close-up access to the most iconic places in the Eternal City, seen from anywhere in the world.

The website does it through four different webcams located in St. Peter's Square, the basilica's dome, Castel Gandolfo and John Paul II's tomb.

The Vatican's streets can also be seen live from a smart phone or a computer. The website 'Skyline webcams' also highlights almost 20 historical and touristic places in Rome.

Thanks to its cameras, one can walk through places like Piazza di Spagna, Trevi Fountain or ever-popular Trastevere.

If after visiting Rome, one misses the Eternal City, these useful tools can serve as a constant reminder of all its splendor.
