The Vatican confirmed that four Swiss guards have tested positive for coronavirus and are showing some symptoms.

They are already in isolation, and investigations are underway to determine with whom they have recently been in close contact.

It's a very delicate situation because it involves the military body that guards the pope's residence.

This past Oct. 2, Pope Francis met with the new recruits and their family members. It is still unclear if the four infected guards were in close contact with the pope.

In the last weeks, three other cases have been registered on Vatican territory.

That's why, as of last week, wearing a mask in the Vatican is mandatory.
