It's official! The next World Youth Day 2022 will be in Lisbon, Portugal!
At the end of the Closing Mass on Sunday morning, as is common at every WYD, the announcement for where the upcoming WYD will be. This year, Card. Kevin Farrell, the Prefect for the Dicastery of Laity, Family and Life made the announcement.
Also at the Mass was the original statue of Our Lady of Fatima. It was the first time the statue left Portugal since 2000. The president of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, was also present at this WYD in anticipation of the announcement.
